LPB15 Fully Fluorine Lined Butterfly Valve

LPB15 Fully Fluorine Lined Butterfly Valve

LPB15 Fluorine Lined Butterfly Valve whose body and disc are fully encapsulated in a seamless PTFE / PFA / FEP fluoropolymer lining—delivering absolute corrosion immunity, zero metallic contamination, and bubble-tight bi-directional shutoff for the most aggressive chemical, pharmaceutical, and ultra-pure process media.

Product Description

The fluorine lined butterfly valve is purpose-engineered for services where conventional metallic or elastomer-seated valves fail within weeks. The entire wetted interior—body bore, disc, and stem bores—is completely lined with a thick, seamless layer of fluoropolymer applied by precision compression molding or isostatic pressing and mechanically anchored into machined dovetail or T-slot grooves to prevent vacuum collapse, thermal delamination, and cold-flow creep. The disc, likewise fully encapsulated, rotates on a corrosion-resistant stainless steel, Hastelloy, or titanium stem through polished PTFE- or PFA-lined bushings, ensuring that no bare metal ever contacts the process fluid. Sealing is achieved by the controlled interference fit between the lined disc periphery and the lined body seat, producing bi-directional, bubble-tight shutoff without any secondary elastomer component that could swell, dissolve, or leach contaminants. The concentric geometry keeps the design compact, lightweight, and low-torque, while the full-bore flow path minimizes pressure drop and eliminates dead legs where media could stagnate or crystallize. Available in wafer, semi-lug, and full-lug end connections from 2″ (DN 50) through 32″ (DN 800), with lining options of PTFE for general chemical duty, PFA for high-purity or elevated-temperature service, and FEP for cost-sensitive applications, this valve is the definitive isolation and throttling solution wherever sulfuric, hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, and nitric acids; chlorine, bromine, and fluorine gases; caustic soda; and electronic-grade solvents demand zero metallic contamination and absolute leak integrity.

Key Features

  • Full fluoropolymer lining – Body, disc, and stem bores entirely encapsulated in PTFE (−20 °C to +120 °C), PFA (−20 °C to +160 °C), or FEP (−17 °C to +100 °C); lining thickness 3–6 mm, mechanically locked into dovetail / T-slot grooves to resist vacuum, thermal cycling, and cold flow.
  • Zero metal-to-media contact – Every wetted surface is fluoropolymer; ideal for ultra-pure (SEMI, USP Class VI, FDA 21 CFR) and highly corrosive services where metallic ion leaching is unacceptable.
  • Bi-directional tight shutoff – Lined-disc-to-lined-body interference seal meets API 598 / EN 12266-1 Rate A with zero visible leakage in both flow directions; no elastomer seat to degrade or contaminate.
  • Exceptional chemical resistance – Withstands virtually all industrial acids, alkalis, halogens, oxidizers, and organic solvents across the full pH 0–14 range, including wet chlorine, aqua regia, and 98 % sulfuric acid.
  • Concentric, low-torque design – Symmetric disc geometry and PTFE-on-PTFE bearing surfaces minimize operating torque, reduce actuator sizing, and extend cycle life beyond 200,000 operations.
  • Full-bore, dead-leg-free flow path – Smooth, uninterrupted lined bore eliminates pockets where media could stagnate, crystallize, or harbor bacteria—critical for CIP / SIP and semiconductor wet-bench systems.
  • ISO 5211 actuator-ready – Standardized top flange accepts manual levers, gear operators, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuators; ATEX / SIL-rated ESD packages available.
  • Wide size & connection range – 2″–32″ (DN 50–DN 800) in wafer, semi-lug, and full-lug ends per ASME B16.5 / B16.47 / EN 1092-1; flange drilling to ANSI 150 / 300 or PN 10 / 16.
  • Full traceability & certification – Material test reports (EN 10204 3.1), hydrostatic and pneumatic seat tests, and optional FDA / USP / EC 1935/2004 / 3-A sanitary documentation.

Typical Applications

  • Chemical & petrochemical processing – Sulfuric, hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, nitric, and phosphoric acid transfer; chlorine and bromine handling; caustic evaporation and neutralization circuits.
  • Pharmaceutical & biotech – API synthesis, CIP / SIP loops, and purified-water / WFI distribution requiring USP Class VI, FDA, and cGMP-compliant wetted materials.
  • Semiconductor & electronics – Ultra-pure acid (UPA), solvent, and slurry delivery in wet-bench, CMP, and etch tools where ppb-level metallic contamination is prohibited.
  • Water & wastewater treatment – Chlorine, ferric chloride, sodium hypochlorite, and ozone dosing lines demanding long-term chemical resistance.
  • Pulp & paper – Chlorine dioxide bleaching, black liquor, and chemical recovery services.
  • Mining & hydrometallurgy – Acid leach, solvent extraction, and electrowinning circuits handling aggressive lixiviant solutions.
  • Food & beverage – CIP acid / caustic return lines and ingredient dosing where sanitary, non-contaminating isolation is required.
