LPA13/14 Three Way Floating Soft Seat Ball Valve

LPA13/14 Three Way Floating Soft Seat Ball Valve

LPA13 Flanged / LPA14 Threaded Three-Way Floating Soft-Seated Ball Valve, a three-way floating ball valve with L-port or T-port ball configuration, pressure-assisted soft-seat sealing, blowout-proof stem, anti-static device, and low-torque quarter-turn operation, enabling flow switching, mixing, or diverting with bubble-tight shutoff in multi-directional piping systems.

Product Description

This three-way floating soft-seated ball valve provides versatile flow control for switching, mixing, or diverting media in process piping. The floating ball shifts under line pressure against the downstream resilient seat rings, forming a self-energizing seal that ensures bubble-tight shutoff per API 598 / EN 12266-1 Rate A on each active port.

The L-port (90°) ball directs flow between two perpendicular outlets, while the T-port (180°) ball allows mixing, splitting, or three-way through flow. Soft seats in PTFE, reinforced PTFE, PEEK, Nylon, or POM cover temperatures from −29 °C to +260 °C.

Body construction is two-piece or three-piece in carbon steel (WCB) or stainless steel (CF8 / CF8M). End connections include threaded (NPT / BSPT / BSP), flanged (ASME B16.5 / EN 1092-1). Sizes range from DN 15 (1/2″) to DN 300 (12″).

The stem is blowout-proof and sealed with PTFE packing and an O-ring secondary seal. An anti-static device maintains ball-to-body electrical continuity. An ISO 5211 top pad accepts direct-coupled actuators or manual levers. Every valve is 100 % tested: shell at 1.5 × PN, seat at 1.1 × PN.

Key Features

  • L-port & T-port configurations – L-port for 90° flow switching between two directions; T-port for mixing, splitting, or straight-through three-way flow.
  • Pressure-assisted soft-seat sealing – Floating ball self-energizes against seat rings under line pressure, achieving zero-leakage shutoff on each active port.
  • Multi-position operation – Quarter-turn between positions provides up to four flow patterns (L-port) or five flow patterns (T-port) with a single valve, reducing piping complexity.
  • Low operating torque – Lapped ball surface and low-friction seat materials minimize torque for easy manual or automated operation.
  • Blowout-proof stem – Internally retained stem prevents ejection under full line pressure.
  • Anti-static device – Spring-loaded plungers maintain ball-stem-body continuity, preventing spark ignition in flammable media.
  • Wide seat material range – PTFE, RPTFE, PEEK, Nylon, POM cover chemical, water, gas, and mild temperature services.
  • Multiple end connections – Threaded, flanged, or welded ends suit diverse installation requirements.
  • ISO 5211 actuator mounting – Standardized top pad accepts pneumatic or electric quarter-turn operators.
  • 100 % factory tested – Hydrostatic shell and seat tests per API 598; material certificates available.

Typical Applications

  • Flow direction switching in oil, gas, and chemical transfer lines
  • Mixing or blending of two media into a common outlet
  • Diverting one inlet flow to two downstream destinations
  • Sampling, venting, and bypass configurations
  • Compressed air and water distribution manifolds
  • Food, beverage, and pharmaceutical CIP/SIP systems
